Rika Fujita

One of the earliest founding members of Knights during Checkmate Era. Rika is quieter than most even if bun has been with Izumi and Leo since her 1st year. Even so, he will put all of his effort to help with beloved unit flourish as producer, member of Knights, and a solo unit. Rika's name can be written out fully in kanji (藤多凛花). Rika's first name (凛花) means dignity, majesty, awe-inspiring flower, and last name is (藤多) meaning wisteria, many, numerous, much

Early Years (Trigger Warning: mentions of bullying and spoilers for Checkmate)
Rika had a rough childhood where bun only listened to whatever bun's parents had for him. Rika's parents only acknowledged Rika as a girl, making bun to be the least emotional being as possible. Compliant with whatever they wanted with Rika. During this time, Rika found out bun liked being a boy more than a girl so he secretly acted as a boy away from her parents' eyes. This continued till junior high where an ex-lover of Rika's exposed her secret of being a girl and using a binder to hide that fact. Rika's class shunned him to the point where rumors started to take place, rumors being "I heard Fujita-san from 2-C was a girl this whole time!" "What- I thought they were a dude." "I bet they change themselves whenever to get what they want. I bet that's how they dated Hakome-san, the most popular boy at school!" "Ugh, what a tool." Rika had to hide bunself whenever rest breaks happen at school. One day at bun's usual hiding spot behind the gym building in a secluded corner, a tree standing tall, Rika finds a boy napping there. A boy with somewhat raven hair, soft and fluffy, snoozing away. "Uhm.. h-hello...?" Rika says. The raven-haired boy wakes up, Rika notices his crimson ruby like eyes. "Huh? A middle classmen? How did you find this spot? Usually no one comes here." the boy replies. "I uh... I came here to hide like how I always do.. My classmates don't like me too fondly... A-ah! You are an upper classmen; I shouldn't talk about my troubles like this.. And besides, it wouldn't be surprising if you knew what I'm known for since rumors spread fast." said Rika. "Heeh? I'm not sure what you are talking about, you seem like a normal person to me. Fuaaaawh" the boy says while taking a yawn. Rika was stunned, how come did this boy in front of her, an upper classmen even- How did he not hear or know any of the rumors. "If you are thinking why I haven't heard anything about the rumors you are speaking of, I'm usually asleep and don't dwell into rumors so don't worry. Other than that. Introduce yourself since we have been talking for a bit." the boy reassures with his words. Rika lets go of the unknown tension bun had in their chest and sighs. "I'm Rika. Rika Fujita." "Rika huh? I'll call you Ri-chan starting today. And while we are on that, I'm Ritsu."
Rika and Ritsu were the closest best friends they could ever be, secretly hanging out at that tree until Ritsu graduated. After that Rika became more introverted due to the potential bullying and rumors from bun's classmates. A year later, Rika eventually transfers to Yumenosaki because Rika thought this would be bun's calling. A new slate where no one from her old school would be spreading malicious lies about him anymore. Then Rika joins Chess, liking the knight, royalty motif they had going on. Rika soon meets Leo when he was looking for inspiration and overheard Rika's soft humming. Rika meets Izumi after Leo introduced bun to him, and they became an inseparable. The events of Chess soon having to disband and go into smaller units. Rika was sensing that Chess was taken advantage of Leo's genius, same with Izumi seeing that the people from Chess were taking Leo's works. The three make the group Knights and add Arashi and Ritsu after. But after the results of Checkmate, Rika wasn't the same for a while. Just like how Leo wouldn't come out of his room, Rika became an empty husk. Seeing one of her favorite people disappear in front of her, it plagued her mental state.

Knights was slowly stabilizing, even though their original leader was gone. Rika was stabilizing as well with the help with Izumi, Ritsu, Arashi. Tsukasa joins Knights, and Rika was cautious of him because due to Checkmate, Rika became wary of people and only talk to Izumi, Ritsu, and Arashi. Though they do become friends after Tsukasa saw Rika eating a dessert that Tsukasa wanted to try but could never get it due to the limited edition label on it. Another regular day, Izumi sends Rika to get documents for Knights's performances, since bun is Knights's producer. When Rika went and entered to the student council office, bun saw a magenta haired boy working on some papers that Rika couldn't see. 'Hmm.. I never seen him before. He doesn't seem have that much sparkle either.' Rika thought. "Oh Fujita-kun, are you here for your documents?" a light voice called out. Rika turns to the voice and sees Eichi. Rika has a small grudge on Eichi due to the 'filth cleansing' he did back in Checkmate. Rika blankly stares at him and nods then takes the documents Eichi hands her. "By the way Fujita-kun, I have a task for you." She feels apprehensive doing any favors for Eichi but is willing to hear out and nods yes to his comment. "We have a new transfer student coming, are you willing to clear out your producer tasks and give a school tour?" Rika tilts his head; "Tenshi-san? You know I can't. I'm busy with producing Knights. Our new rookie is still needing guidance." Eichi smiles, Rika felt chills when seeing that smile. "Well, I can talk with the council and take your position as producer away and spot in Knights. Fine would love to have you as its fifth member~♪" The room gets tense, Rika glares at him. "Don't you dare get in the way of my unit." said Rika, words dipped in venom. "Uh- I think that is enough from the both of you. Everyone else is feeling the pressure.." a worried voice spoke out. Rika looks and sees the magenta hair colored boy stood up from his seat facing towards her and Eichi. He then sighs feign defeat and not wanting to continue this farce. "Okay whatever, I'll do it to keep you away from making trouble for my unit." Rika having her hand go through her hair and starts to leave the room. "The transfer student will be here by third period!" Eichi called out right as Rika opened the door and left. After Rika left, Eichi notices that he forgot to put one more file folder of documents to give to Rika, but checking that it is nearing to second period, he calls to the magenta hair. "Mao, can you deliver this last folder to Fujita-kun for me please? I believe he is in the same class as you. If you can't find him, you can ask Ritsu-kun to find Fujita-kun." Mao got up from his seat again to grab the folder. "Sure President, I can deliver it. But uhm is things good between you and Fujita-san?.." Mao questioned. "Hmm.. I can say it is a bit strained between me and Fujita-kun but do not worry about it, it's something that is from the past." Eichi replies. "Ooookay then." Mao nods in agreement. Soon the bell rings to signal the start of class. "Oh shoot! I must go, Good bye President! Good work!" Mao speaks in a hurry and quickly leaves the student council room to go to class.
In class Mao spots Ritsu and calls out to him. "Heeey!~ Ritsuuu" and Ritsu wakes up to his call. "Maa~ kun what is it? Do you need me for something? A hand in marriage perhaps? :3c" "W-what?! No! Not with your silly marriage jokes.. I just need help finding someone. Do you know where Fujita-san is?" "Fujita-san?? Oh~ you mean Ri-chan" Mao tilts in confusion then suddenly gets a train of thought. "Wait Ri-chan, do you mean the Ri-chan that was with you during junior high?" "Yep~ Bun was with me sinc-" The door opens and reveals Rika. Rika goes to her seat and starts going through the documents she got until gets interrupted by a cheerful voice. "Hey there! I'm Mao Isara, I'm the person back in the student council room earlier, I heard loads of things from Ritsu, never thought I would meet you today!" Something breaks in Rika when hearing his comment. "Ritsu said something about me?..." "Yeah! He did, it seemed like you guys were-" Mao gets interrupted by Rika passing through him and going to Ritsu's desk. "What did you tell him? Did you tell him everything? I thought we promised to not say anything!?" "Eh- I didn't say anything?!" Rika's face pales and runs out of the classroom not wanting to get into a fight with Ritsu. Mao noticing Rika leaving and instinctively chased after Rika since he didn't want any bad tension between bun and Ritsu. At the cenotaph, Rika sits behind it, feeling the anxieties and doubts at almost snapping at someone who knows about Rika's identity. She knows that Ritsu wouldn't do anything bad to give any ill intentions but the things her classmates did after Ritsu graduated were unforgivable. Not hearing footsteps from behind, Rika gets spooked from a voice speaking out to bun. "Phew.. You sure escape quickly- Haah... But I finally caught up to you." Mao catches his breath and looks to Rika who was sitting down on the ground leaning against the backside of the cenotaph. Rika eyes widen and quickly buries bun's head to hide because he doesn't like talking to people he is not close to and people who are related to the student council. Mao looked at Rika quizzically and slowly sits down next to her. "So I'm guessing you and Ritsu have some history, don't you." Rika doesn't respond. 'Not much a talker huh? But he seemed to have so much grit in him when he spoke to the President..' Mao thought. Mao thinks for a second and gets an idea. He gently pokes Rika's ahoge to get her attention. Rika flinches from the touch. "Ahaha~ cute. Ritsu taught me this trick when he needed to talk to you once you get into this state." Mao lets out a soft laugh. Rika felt flustered, shy even, hearing his laugh and calling bun cute, but she still kept her head down because something was telling bun to not look up. "Hmm. I think I got your attention so I'll just go say what I have on my mind. I overheard the talk you and Ritsu had back in the classroom." said Mao. 'He did?.. Oh dear lord.. I cant believe that got out of hand!! Wahh... But then again I almost yelled in the classroom too.. Even then!! Why did he chased after me?!.. What if he would report this back to the council about me not being a boy!? AHHH It is SO over for me!!!! T^T' Rika having a small anxiety spiral while listening to Mao. "And I never got to finish what I was saying to you before you got up and left to talk to Ritsu. I wanted to say that you seemed like a great person from what Ritsu told me. If you don't mind me asking, do you want to tell me what you meant back during the classroom?" Mao asked. Rika not hearing the second half and had bun's mind fold in on itself not processing any information. "Uhm.. Fujijta? You there?" Mao slowly getting concerned that Rika was blanking out, waving his hand in front of bun's face to get Rika's attention again. Rika came back in a second and started to blush then randomly spewing out on what bun's mind. "Wh-wh-wh.. Y-you'll just report me to the student council because it's an all boy school. Ritsy must have told you. Maybe he must have gotten disgusted by my identity. And secretly started to just hang out with me just 'cause he felt bad for me and and and.." Rika subconsciously started to hyperventilate as her body sensed danger when Rika talked about his trauma. Mao noticed and grabbed Rika's hand with a firm yet gentle hold. Rika's breath hitched and felt the warmth on his hand. "Hey. I don't know what happened, but let's get you calmed down first. Breathe with me okay?" Mao spoke firmly looking directly into Rika's eyes. Rika nods and tries her best to slow her breathing to match Mao while he keeps holding Rika's hand. After a few minutes, feeling Mao's hand rub small circles on the back side of bun's hand helped calmed Rika a lot. "So feeling better?" Mao asked while slowly checking anymore signs so Rika doesn't relapse. Rika nods, feeling better than before. "Okay, let's take it slow. You can talk to me. If it makes you feel better, I can keep holding your hand while you talk." Rika nods again then takes a deep breath and slowly starts to speak. "U-uhm.. Back in junior high... No one knew that I was a girl because I was being a boy. But I like being a boy!! I hate being a girl due to um.. my parents... Either ways I prefer being a boy! Although.. I still gravitate to girly things because they look cute... Then one day, a person exposed my secret, n-not Ritsy! S-someone else.. And that caused a lot of bullying towards me. It gotten worst after Ritsy graduated... I got many scars.. B-but I'm o-okay now!! You must also be wondering how I uh uhm hide my body being a girl.. I wear a binder to help with that." Rika rambled rapidly. "B-binder?.." Mao confused and also shocked at how much Rika can speak and at fast speed. "Y-yeah! It's like a sports bra but not really?.. It helps flatten my chest and makes my figure not look as feminine as possib-... EEEK!!" Rika screeched realizing mid-way of saying his sentence and also seeing Mao's flustered face then quickly covers bun's face with her hands. Mao awkwardly coughs, not realizing how awkward this conversation has gotten. Though he realizes this must have been the thing Rika and Ritsu been talking about back in the classroom. He shakes his head to get the awkward feeling out. "I see. So that must be what you were talking to Ritsu about." Rika nods. "Y-yes! But but- Please don't tell Tenshi-san.. I don't think he will let me stay at Yumenosaki even though I really love being here. C-can you?!" Rika says while grabbing Mao's hand with both of hers pleading that Mao won't say anything. Mao blankly blinks at Rika and slowly smiles. "It seems very important to you, I can see that with how much you are talking to me. Ritsu did tell me that you don't talk outside of your close circles. I get that. Also your eyes seem to shine too when you talk about the things you are passionate about." Rika blushes again at his comment, not being able to process the random compliments Mao is giving to bun. "Besides, it sounds cool to be both sides! Or being able to choose which one you want to be." Mao grins. Rika, dumbfounded at what Mao just said. Then giggles, thinking it was cute to say something like that. "Eh. Did I say something wrong?.." Mao panics a little hearing Rika's giggle. "Ehehehe, n-no no! I just thought it was cute that you think of it like that- Ahahaha!~♪" Rika says while slowly starting to laugh joyfully feeling happiness for the first time of today. Mao relaxes seeing Rika let out a laugh and a smile on bun's face. "Hmm I had a feeling you looked better with a smile, just as Ritsu said, you look like the sun breaking dawn." Rika stopped and looked at Mao seeing his smile then returns it with a soft smile. "Yours too."

Last Year (Enstars! Era) (Trigger Warning: mentions of bullying and scars)

Knights was slowly stabilizing, even though their original leader was gone. Rika was stabilizing as well with the help with Izumi, Ritsu, Arashi. Tsukasa joins Knights, and Rika was cautious of him because due to Checkmate, Rika became wary of people and only talk to Izumi, Ritsu, and Arashi. Though they do become friends after Tsukasa saw Rika eating a dessert that Tsukasa wanted to try but could never get it due to the limited edition label on it. Another regular day, Izumi sends Rika to get documents for Knights's performances, since bun is Knights's producer. When Rika went and entered to the student council office, bun saw a magenta haired boy working on some papers that Rika couldn't see. 'Hmm.. I never seen him before. He doesn't seem have that much sparkle either.' Rika thought. "Oh Fujita-kun, are you here for your documents?" a light voice called out. Rika turns to the voice and sees Eichi. Rika has a small grudge on Eichi due to the 'filth cleansing' he did back in Checkmate. Rika blankly stares at him and nods then takes the documents Eichi hands her. "By the way Fujita-kun, I have a task for you." She feels apprehensive doing any favors for Eichi but is willing to hear out and nods yes to his comment. "We have a new transfer student coming, are you willing to clear out your producer tasks and give a school tour?" Rika tilts his head; "Tenshi-san? You know I can't. I'm busy with producing Knights. Our new rookie is still needing guidance." Eichi smiles, Rika felt chills when seeing that smile. "Well, I can talk with the council and take your position as producer away and spot in Knights. Fine would love to have you as its fifth member~♪" The room gets tense, Rika glares at him. "Don't you dare get in the way of my unit." said Rika, words dipped in venom. "Uh- I think that is enough from the both of you. Everyone else is feeling the pressure.." a worried voice spoke out. Rika looks and sees the magenta hair colored boy stood up from his seat facing towards her and Eichi. He then sighs feign defeat and not wanting to continue this farce. "Okay whatever, I'll do it to keep you away from making trouble for my unit." Rika having her hand go through her hair and starts to leave the room. "The transfer student will be here by third period!" Eichi called out right as Rika opened the door and left. After Rika left, Eichi notices that he forgot to put one more file folder of documents to give to Rika, but checking that it is nearing to second period, he calls to the magenta hair. "Mao, can you deliver this last folder to Fujita-kun for me please? I believe he is in the same class as you. If you can't find him, you can ask Ritsu-kun to find Fujita-kun." Mao got up from his seat again to grab the folder. "Sure President, I can deliver it. But uhm is things good between you and Fujita-san?.." Mao questioned. "Hmm.. I can say it is a bit strained between me and Fujita-kun but do not worry about it, it's something that is from the past." Eichi replies. "Ooookay then." Mao nods in agreement. Soon the bell rings to signal the start of class. "Oh shoot! I must go, Good bye President! Good work!" Mao speaks in a hurry and quickly leaves the student council room to go to class.

In class Mao spots Ritsu and calls out to him. "Heeey!~ Ritsuuu" and Ritsu wakes up to his call. "Maa~ kun what is it? Do you need me for something? A hand in marriage perhaps? :3c" "W-what?! No! Not with your silly marriage jokes.. I just need help finding someone. Do you know where Fujita-san is?" "Fujita-san?? "Yep~ Bun was with me sinc-" The door opens and reveals Rika. Rika goes to her seat and starts going through the documents she got until gets interrupted by a cheerful voice. "Hey there! I'm Mao Isara, I'm the person back in the student council room earlier, I heard loads of things from Ritsu, never thought I would meet you today!" Something breaks in Rika when hearing his comment. "Ritsu said something about me?..." "Yeah! He did, it seemed like you guys were-" Mao gets interrupted by Rika passing through him and going to Ritsu's desk. "What did you tell him? Did you tell him everything? I thought we promised to not say anything!?" "Eh- I didn't say anything?!" Rika's face pales and runs out of the classroom not wanting to get into a fight with Ritsu. Mao noticing Rika leaving and instinctively chased after Rika since he didn't want any bad tension between bun and Ritsu. At the cenotaph, Rika sits behind it, feeling the anxieties and doubts at almost snapping at someone who knows about Rika's identity. She knows that Ritsu wouldn't do anything bad to give any ill intentions but the things her classmates did after Ritsu graduated were unforgivable. Not hearing footsteps from behind, Rika gets spooked from a voice speaking out to bun. "Phew.. You sure escape quickly- Haah... But I finally caught up to you." Mao catches his breath and looks to Rika who was sitting down on the ground leaning against the backside of the cenotaph. 2nd Year Students

Tsukasa Suou
They did not become friends at first, the first impression of Rika from Tsukasa's point of view. He thought Rika was just an anti-social being that hated him because Rika would never talk to him and only talk to the seniors. But when Tsukasa catches Rika eating a limited edition parfait from a famous cafe that is always sold out whenever he tries to go. He changed his mind completely and talked to Rika about his love about sweets. Rika was startled from the loud voice saying "Marvelous!" Then when bun checks who said and sees Tsukasa with beaming eyes with sparkles. "Is that the limited edition parfait from Cafe Flora?! I could never get it due to time constraints and Sena senpai telling me to watch out on what I eat." Rika slowly nods and blanks out a bit then giggles hearing the part of when Tsukasa mentioned Izumi telling Tsukasa off because Izumi does the same to bun too. "Ehehehe~♪ Yeah it is, I somehow got the last one on sale today. I also get you, Izu-tan always tells me off to not eat desserts whenever I crave something sweet. Anyways you want some? I can share." Rika smiles and then Tsukasa nods and smiles brightly. "Yes! I would love to!" "You would love to do what?" a cold voice stops into the conversation. Let's just say Rika and Tsukasa did not get off the hook that day. Nowadays, Rika and Tsukasa are best friends, dessert partners in crime. Escaping whenever Izumi catches them eating desserts. Tsukasa did develop a crush on Rika because he loves being around Rika and having so much fun with bun. But he had to let that go when he found out that Rika had a crush on Mao.

3rd Year Students

Arashi Narukami
Best friends forever! When Rika told Arashi that she was a girl. Arashi was over the moon, knowing that there was another girl other than her and Anzu. Arashi also understand that Rika is also a boy as well and even supports it too! Before Arashi thought Rika was a silent person and didn't know how to talk until she seen Rika talk to either Izumi or Ritsu. Seeing that she wanted to befriend Rika because well they're both in the same unit! And it was history since then. Girls hang out!! They will go shopping with Mika too because yes. Sometimes have tea time outside or even during Knights's meetings. The other members have gotten used to it to the point they always have tea during their meetings. It helps with feeling like we are in royalty according to Arashi and Rika. Rika also feels comfortable relaying bun's troubles about identity to Arashi since she told Rika that she relates to having an identity crisis.
Mao Isara - Oh my gosh these two. Mao and Rika are sickeningly sweet love birds. Well before that they were friends or acquaintances due to their "first" meeting in the student council room and then the true get to know each other at the cenotaph. Rika had small amounts of distrust towards Mao because she thought Mao would expose him like how bun's ex did. But it never happened, so that distrust slowly crumbled as more time they hung out and talked to each other. They are dating but keeping it as a secret because fans would not like it and also ES would kick out anyone of their idol career if they were dating. While during their crush phase, like the time where Mao gotten called a flashlight by Nagisa, Rika got so upset at his behalf and started to show that he is not a flashlight, but the most warmest sparkling star bun has witnessed. Mao couldn't get it out of his head and realized that he had a crush on Rika (well he did after they got to hang out and talk more but he didn't confirm it with himself until that moment) meanwhile Rika was screaming mentally at bunself on why the heck she did that and blushing so much. Then during Tanabata Live, Mao pulled Rika to a secluded spot and confessed his feelings to Rika. Rika blanked out so much to where Mao thought he was rejected him. Rika did come back to tell Mao that he reciprocate the feelings Mao has.
Ritsu Sakuma - Rika's first and one of closest friends. One of Rika's mental support during Rika's dark years of junior high. But he feels guilty of the time after he graduated, Rika reassured him that it is in the past and there is nothing to worry about. Baking and napping buddies! Rika and Ritsu love to bake and nap. The first time they baked together, Rika was so dumbfounded at every time Ritsu made a dessert it would not come out how it usually looks. Though after eating his desserts, bun forgets the looks because it tastes so delicious. Then napping, they love sitting under a tree, super shaded area under a tree and nap there for hours.

Graduates (Spoilers: mentions of Checkmate)
